Me and the monsters decided as it was a nice day yesterday, (I'm on a diet and needed the exercise and we all needed to get out of the same 4 walls) that it would be a good idea to take their new 'fishing nets' out and go on a nature trail. We're lucky that where we live there are loads of fields and walks that we could choose to go on.
It didn't take too long before we got to the little stream and the kids were really excited to make a start with their nets and jars and explore the creepy crawlies that were hidden beneath.
And boy did we find some...
I have to say, the things that they found, although exciting to them looked gross to me. I remember as a kid being all excited at the thought of all the little mini-beasts to be found and although I have an allotment that is full of all sorts of things, I had a little shudder looking in the jars. Cameron was fascinated...
They called the creatures 'mini-shrimps' and when it was starting to cloud over and our tummies were telling us it was time for tea we headed back, trouble was the walk back wasn't as exciting as the walk there, little legs were aching and there was nature to explore, so we had a few sit downs and a lot of searching, but we had fun all the same.
Jessie wants to know, 'Mam, can we go again tomorrow?'
